EcoVoucher program continues to support Moldovan households in boosting energy efficiency – new session launched
Chișinău, October 23, 2025 – The EcoVoucher Program has launched a new session, running from October 23 to November 9, 2025, aimed at providing direct support to households in the Republic of Moldova to reduce energy consumption and modernize home appliances.
The state-run EcoVoucher Program remains an important tool for supporting families, offering vouchers worth 6,000 MDL for the purchase of energy-efficient household appliances — refrigerators and washing machines that comply with European Efficiency and Conformity (CE) standards.
This session includes around 550 families, mainly those with two minor children and seniors over 63 years old. Beneficiary households were selected based on eligibility criteria and data registered on the platform compensatii.gov.md. The vouchers cover up to 70% of the cost of a new appliance, while beneficiaries can purchase the equipment from partner stores, benefiting from free delivery and collection of old appliances for recycling.
The program’s results confirm its positive impact. Beneficiaries report significant savings on monthly bills, greater comfort at home, and growing interest in energy-efficient appliances.
Since its launch, more than 37,000 households across the Republic of Moldova have benefited from vouchers for the purchase of large household appliances. In 2025 alone, Norway’s financial support has enabled the use of over 24,700 vouchers.
More information about the program, the list of partner stores, and voucher usage instructions are available at www.ecovoucher.md. Eigible households can check voucher availability at verificarevoucher.cned.gov.md.
The EcoVoucher Program was developed by the Government of the Republic of Moldova with the support of the European Union. This edition of the Household Appliances Voucher Program is implemented by the National Center for Sustainable Energy within the framework of the project “Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy for Moldova” (E4M). E4M is a project implemented by GIZ together with the Government of the Republic of Moldova, financed by the Government of Germany and co-financed by the European Union, Norway, and Denmark. The current edition of the Household Appliances Voucher Program is financed by Norway.
