CNED launches an interactive digital platform for monitoring the renewable energy sector
09 April 2026, Chișinău – The National Center for Sustainable Energy (CNED) launches an interactive digital platform for monitoring the renewable energy sector.
CNED announces the development of a digital platform dedicated to monitoring and analyzing the evolution of renewable energy generation capacities in the Republic of Moldova. The initiative is part of the institution’s efforts to strengthen transparency and improve access to relevant energy sector information through digitalization.
The platform is a modern analytical tool designed to provide interactive visualization and easy access to updated data on the development of the renewable energy sector. It integrates relevant information into a user-friendly format and enables the monitoring of installed capacities over time, offering a clear overview of development trends at both national and regional levels.
“Through this platform, we are transforming complex technical data into a resource accessible to everyone. We are not merely launching a website, but a decision-making tool: now, any investor or citizen can see in real time where and how green energy is growing in the Republic of Moldova. The digitalization of the sector means, above all, transparency,” stated Ion Muntean, Director of CNED.
The platform is structured to allow users to first view an overall picture of aggregated national-level data and then, through dedicated submenus, navigate toward more detailed analyses. By interactively applying various filter combinations, users can:
- Segment data according to the technology used (photovoltaic, wind, biogas, hydro) and the applicable support mechanism.
- Analyze the evolution of installed capacities over time, tracking sectoral development within a selected timeframe.
- Visualize regional development, with access to disaggregated data and statistics specific to each district.
- Locate renewable energy generation installations on an interactive map.
- Differentiate categories of producers, with the possibility to separately analyze data related to large renewable energy producers and prosumers (including their evolution and territorial distribution).
- Create customized datasets by analyzing disaggregated data to support research activities or investment planning.
Through this digital solution, users — including public authorities, investors, experts, and the general public — can access structured data that facilitates sector analysis and supports evidence-based decision-making. At the same time, the platform contributes to a better understanding of the progress achieved in harnessing renewable energy sources and their impact on the energy system.
The development of the platform aims to promote the use of modern information tools and support the digitalization process within the energy sector. By providing accessible and updated data, the institution contributes to creating a more transparent and predictable environment for investment development in the field.
Please note that the platform is currently in its initial launch phase; therefore, certain adjustments may occur over time. The data presented on the platform are official data collected from relevant institutions and authorities within the energy sector.
CNED encourages all stakeholders in the renewable energy sector — producers, prosumers, suppliers, and other relevant participants — to support efforts aimed at increasing data transparency in order to enhance the quality of public policies and support informed decision-making based on reliable information.
To ensure an optimized user experience, the platform is available in both Desktop and Mobile versions, adapted for quick access and intuitive navigation from any type of device.
