22 May 2026, Chișinău – The EcoVoucher Program for household appliances continues with a new session supported by the European Union.

The EcoVoucher Program for household appliances continues with a new session financially supported by the European Union, taking place from 22 May to 07 June 2026. The program provides direct support to households in the Republic of Moldova to help reduce energy consumption and modernize home appliances.

EcoVoucher remains an important instrument for supporting families, offering vouchers worth 6,000 MDL for the purchase of energy-efficient household appliances – refrigerators and washing machines that comply with energy efficiency requirements and European Conformity (CE) standards.

The beneficiaries of this session are approximately 1,160 families, including households with minor children, elderly people over the age of 63, and persons with severe disabilities. To be eligible, beneficiaries must be registered in the Energy Vulnerability Information System. They will be notified via SMS or email about the availability of vouchers, which can be accessed through the compensatii.gov.md platform.

Beneficiaries will be able to use the vouchers during the active session period. The vouchers cover up to 70% of the appliance price (but not exceeding the voucher value) for the purchase of energy-efficient refrigerators (including those with integrated freezers) and washing machines. Each appliance purchased under the program must meet energy efficiency criteria and European Conformity (CE) standards. To redeem the voucher, beneficiaries will be required to hand over an old appliance of the same type.

The results of the EcoVoucher Program confirm the positive impact of the implemented measures. Beneficiaries report significant savings on monthly utility bills, improved household comfort, and increased interest in energy-efficient equipment.

Since its launch and up to the present, 41,645 families in the Republic of Moldova have benefited from vouchers for the purchase of large household appliances.

In the 2026 edition, the EcoVoucher Program is financed by the European Union with an estimated budget of EUR 1 million through the project “Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy in Moldova” (E4M), implemented by GIZ.

More information about the program, the list of partner stores, and the steps for using the vouchers are available on www.ecovoucher.md.

The EcoVoucher Program was developed by the Government of the Republic of Moldova with the support of the European Union. This edition of the Household Appliances Voucher Program is implemented by the National Center for Sustainable Energy within the framework of the project “Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy for Moldova” (E4M). E4M is a project implemented by GIZ together with the Government of the Republic of Moldova, financed by the German Government and co-financed by the European Union, Norway, and Denmark.
